About Us
The Pleasant View Fire Protection District provides fire protection, rescue, and emergency medical services to approximately 385 square miles in a rural area located in northern Montezuma County and southern Dolores County in southwestern Colorado. A major highway, U.S. 491, transverses the district along with a network of county roads. Firefighting varies from structure fires in three unincorporated communities and farmsteads, wild land fires in brush and timber lands, industrial fires, and emergencies in a wide variety of industrial sites such as oil well drilling, construction, vehicle fires, etc. Emergency and rescue services range from highway accidents, farm and industrial accidents, and medical emergencies.
Currently, our department has sixteen members. Our members had a total of 1,013 hours of training in 2023 in addition to the calls they responded to.
